DEX Webinar Series
German Expert Council for Environmental Technology and Infrastructure
The dex webinar series has been established to foster the exchange between practitioners and scientists in both directions. The dex members and external experts present the latest findings from practice orientated research in the field of sanitary engineering as well as operational experiences from full scale. As usual, the dex aims to address an international audience in all stages of the personal career, from graduates to senior staff.
The announced webinar will focus on “Wastewater-based epidemiology for SARS-CoV-2″. A keynote presentation will be given, followed by a question and discussion round.

Background
Wastewater-based epidemiology can provide valuable information on viruses by molecular analysis and the geographical distribution of cases. This approach can serve as a supporting tool for pandemic management in the COVID-19 crisis. In the presentation, the principles behind the approach as well as application cases and results from trend analysis and sequencing of variants of concern will be addressed.
